When Benihana opened a location on Michigan Avenue last year, I was thrilled. I grew up going there with my family and I had missed having one downtown. When they opened, I got to be one of the first to experience the new location (and got a chance to actually be the chef)! It was so much fun and I knew it was a place I wanted to take my daughter when she was old enough to eat table food.
Well the time has come (Elia loves all things rice and shrimp) and Benihana did not disappoint! My husband and I took an hour to sneak away from work for lunch this week and I am so glad we chose to head to Benihana. From the moment we arrived, Elia was the priority to staff and they handed her the cutest kids menu (that ultimately turns into an amazing chef hat) and some crayons.
The Kabuki Kids menu is designed for kids 12 and under and has an amazing array of entrees, sides, and drinks. PLUS the menu has tons of activities that can keep your little one busy until the teppanyaki show begins!
This menu was perfect for Elia because it’s very similar to the adult menu! It just has different portion sizing and she really felt like she was a big girl.
The teppanyaki show is also like a built in babysitter. She was mesmerized the entire time and we didn’t have to worry about keeping her occupied or risk a boredom melt-down.
She just loved it!
It helped that her meal came with a chocolate ice cream too…
Right after our visit, I signed Elia up to become a Kabuki Kid. It’s free AND they will receive a special postcard during the month of their birthday redeemable for a FREE souvenir mug of your choice with the purchase of any Kabuki Kids meal. Too cute!
Benihana is definitely going to be a go-to spot for our family night out and I am so thrilled Elia loved it as much as her foodie parents do! If you have one near you, I highly suggest you pop-in with your little ones and check it out, you won’t be disappointed.
Love always,
Erica
