As you already know, it’s important to start off everyday with a balanced and filling breakfast. I have to be honest, I’m not a huge egg fan, so I am always looking to try out alternative breakfast recipes that provide me with lots of protein and energy for my day.
A few weeks ago I was starving for breakfast and I saw one of my Facebook friends posted about their avocado toast. I thought that sounded good. I happened to have some avocado and Seeduction bread from Whole Foods so I thought I would give it a try.
I have to be honest, the avocado toast was really bland. I decided to add some red pepper flakes (for a little flavor and to boost my metabolism) and some chia seeds for protein. It actually turned out to be a little too spicy so I drizzled a little honey on it to balance it out. When I took that next bite with all those added ingredients on it, I went into food heaven.
This dish is so perfectly balanced with sweet, spicy, crunchy, smooth and tangy. It’s a must try and a great replacement for traditional eggs and toast.
