I can’t believe it, but my second Mother’s Day is right around the corner! I’m not sure where the time went, but these days just keep on flying by. As I sit and reflect on my last two years as a Mother, I can’t help but think about how much my Mom friends, my “Mom Tribe” if you will, has helped me get through it all.
I’ve always been an open-book about my struggles with motherhood, but I’m not sure I would have actually gotten through it all (while keeping my sanity) without my Mom Tribe. They’ve been my biggest support system and I’d like to think I have been there for them too.
This year, instead of just receiving all the love from my husband & daughter (although that part is so much fun), I thought it was important to share my love for my Mom Tribe. I decided to host a small champagne & chocolate brunch for a few of my favorite moms just to show my gratitude for all they’ve done to help me through this amazing journey. It’s so rare that we celebrate and appreciate one another in this way and it felt so good to be able to express to them how much they mean to me and my family.
Preparing for this special get-together was SO much fun! I felt inspired by the spring weather finally arriving, so I kept the menu light and seasonal with avocado toast, a spring-vegetable quiche, salad and delicious merci Chocolates!
And of course, in true, Erica fashion, I had to add in a few unicorn details to make it really sparkle.
For dessert, I served the most decadent box of merci Chocolates. With a name that literally means, “thank you”, these European chocolates were a delicious end to our meal and the most perfect little gift to give all the girls before they left.
If you haven’t tried merci before, you must! Each box is filled with a variety of tasty flavors including:
- Milk Chocolate
- Coffee and Cream
- Hazelnut-Almond
- Hazelnut-Creme
- Marzipan
- DarkCream
- Dark Mousse
- Praline-Creme
It is absolutely decadent and an amazing way to say you’re thankful for someone. One of my Mom Tribe babes, Monika, actually told me that where she is from in Poland, merci is given on the most special occasions and they bring back so many memories for her. It made my heart smile.
This Mother’s Day, I really am just so thankful for the amazing women in my life who have helped me navigate motherhood. From the 3 a.m. texts when our babies wouldn’t sleep to the photos and videos of their first milestones, they’ve made this journey so much sweeter.
Love always,
Erica
