Hosting Thanksgiving in your home is a huge undertaking. Not only do you have the pressure of creating a memorable meal that everyone looks forward to all year, but you may have out of town guests that need entertaining beyond just the holiday meal.
A post-Thanksgiving breakfast is always a must with my family and every year it feels like we are scrambling to put something nice together. Since I’m hosting the holiday the first time this year (and I’m all about making things as easy as possible), I’m going to put my own spin on things and impress my friends and family with very little effort.
The Food
Thanksgiving leftovers always feel like the automatic thing to do the next day, right? Well, I vote you save those turkey sandwiches for an early afternoon snack and switch things up for your guests.
This year, I’m going to Einstein Bros. Bagels to get my absolute favorite bagels in the world. I first fell in love with these bagels back in grad school. We actually had an Einstein on campus, and my friend Jason and I would go every single morning before class. Anytime I am having people over for brunch, I always know I can grab an Einstein’s bagels box and everyone will be happy.
They have many different bagel box size options, so no matter the number of guests, you’ll be well taken care of! I’m having about 8 people this year, so I’ll be getting a Baker’s Dozen Box (13 Bagels with 2 Shmears). My favorite is the Asiago bagel with Honey Almond shmear, so I always make sure to get extra of those and freeze them for a rainy day!
Also on my post-Thanksgiving Day brunch menu is Einstein Bros. most adorable new product, the Shmearfuls. These bite-sized shmear-filled bagels come in six different flavor options and I know my family will go crazy for them. You can get a dozen for only $9.49.
They come in the following flavors:
- Plain with plain shmear
- Everything with plain shmear
- French Toast with maple shmear
- Pretzel with beer cheese
- Asiago Parmesan with plain shmear
- Chocolate with Chocolate Chip Cheesecake shmear
As you can probably imagine, I can’t get enough of the Asiago Parmesan Shmearful (I’m a cheese addict). They are SO addicting.
I’m also really obsessed with the Chocolate with Chocolate chip cheese-cake shmear. It’s so decadent and the perfect treat to end my bagel brunch.
Since I always go apple picking right before Thanksgiving, I’ll also set out a bowl of freshly picked apples and create an pretty accouterments tray for the bagels. Done and done!
The Drinks
If you know me, you know I’m not much of an alcohol drinker, but I get that I’m a rare breed. So to make my guests happy, I need to have something a little boozy. To keep things super simple, this year I’ll be putting out a variety of champagne options with some frozen cranberries! It will be the perfect festive drink.
Plus who doesn’t love a little bubbly with their bagels?
The Decor
If there is anything leftover being used at this brunch, it’s going to be the decor. Since I spent SO much time this year creating amazing centerpieces, I’m totally going to reuse them for this. No need to go out and purchase new flowers or anything! Most of the time, you have so much food on the table the night before that no one will even notice they are the same.
