Becoming a new Mom is very overwhelming. Not only are you trying to navigate this new chapter in your life, but you are constantly bombarded with all sorts of information, products, gadgets and gizmos. Deciphering them all is a challenge in itself, so I wanted to put together a list of 10 products that have gotten me through the last couple of months (or helped make them more fun).
1) Willow Baby Stroller Cover: If you follow me on social media, you know Elia and I are always on the go. Since babies really shouldn’t be out in the sun or exposed to germs this early, I like her to stay covered when we are out. I love the Willow Baby stroller cover because it’s light weight and has a cut out for me to look in and see how my nugget is doing. It’s also TOTALLY adorable and I get tons of compliments on it. You can pick from a variety of patterns and even have it monogrammed.
2) FUJIFILM INSTAX Mini 70 camera: Right now I have about 3,000 photos of Elia on my iPhone and camera. This is awesome, but the reality is, they will probably never make it outside the virtual world since I’m too busy as a new Mom to choose my favorites and send them to a print shop/pick them up. This is why I’m totally obsessed with the FUJIFILM INSTAX Mini 70 camera!
Not only does it fit right in my diaper bag, but it allows me to snap a photo and print super high-quality photos within 90 seconds! It also has a fun selfie mode that automatically adjusts settings for perfect selfies of me and Elia.
You can learn more about the camera and find out where to buy it here.
3) Gerber® Onsies®: Before Elia was born, I never thought I would have a daughter with sensitive skin. I’ve never had any issues with my skin, so I figured why would my daughter be any different? Well, unfortunately, it seems as though she may take after her Daddy and is constantly breaking out in a rash on her belly from clothes (despite washing them with baby detergent.)
A friend recommended I try putting on the super soft Gerber® One Piece Underwear under all her clothes and since I started doing that, her rashes have stopped! Now, they are a total staple (and must-have) in her wardrobe.I love everything about these bodysuits. They are 100% cotton, easy to wash and really easy to dress up. A lot of times I just throw on the bodysuit, a pair of leggings and a bow and she’s good to go.
Since being a new Mom is expensive, here are some Gerber® coupons for you to use at your favorite store! I’m a big fan of online shopping and if you go to their website you can get free shipping using code BBOXX16FS at checkout. It expires on 10/8, so hurry!
4) Ergo Baby Swaddler: If you read my previous post about getting through my first month as a new Mom, you know all about my obsession with the Ergo Baby Swaddler. I literally can’t go a day without this thing (and Elia can’t sleep without it). It’s great for babies like mine who have a hard time calming themselves down after being over stimulated. The second I put it on her she calms right down and goes to sleep. It even helps her sleep longer.
The last week she’s slept 9 hours overnight!!
5) Orbit Baby Stroller: Let’s face it, there are SO many stroller options on the market. It seems like each stroller has some special benefit that makes it unique and it’s easy to get really caught up (and purchase multiple.) Forget it all and just buy the Orbit Baby G3. I am totally obsessed with this stroller.
Here is why:
- The seat swivles around 360 degrees (which makes it great at restaurants)
- The handle bars are not attached at the top so I can put my baby bag, purse and shopping bags on the handle
- It’s SO stylish and unique. I get stopped constantly asking about it
- The seat is actually the car seat as well so I never have to wake Elia up to travel around
6) Boudreaux’s Butt Paste: Diaper rash is not fun for your baby (or your ears from all the crying.) Luckily I discovered Boudreaux’s Butt Paste! It works super quickly and doesn’t use all the harsh ingredients that you’d find in other brands. It’s free-from Parabens, Preservatives, Dyes, Phthalates and Talc which makes me feel so much better about using it!
This is a must have in your diaper bag as well as stocked up at home in your nursery. I promise, you will use this all the time.
7) TempTraq® wearable Bluetooth® temperature monitor: Let’s face it, as much as we try to prevent it, babies get sick. I feel like the second Elia coughs, I’m constantly taking her temperature to make sure she’s okay. Then I discovered TempTraq® and it provided me with a HUGE peace of mind. This wearable thermometer continuously monitors your babies body temperature and transmits the data to your phone through an app for 24 hours. TempTraq® alerts you if their temperature is too high and allows your child to sleep because you don’t have to keep waking them to take their temperature.
Bottom line, it’s a life saver and for less than $20, you need to own one. You can get one at Target, CVS or Walgreens or online here. If you use code BABBLEBOX10, you can get 10% off until October 31, 2016.
8) Rainbow Light Pre-Natal Vitamins: Believe it or not, I am STILL taking my pre-natal vitamins. I tried SO many different brands before I found these ones. The Rainbow Light Pre-Natal Vitamins are really gentle on my stomach which was really helpful when I was having morning sickness.
They even have ones specifically designed for women 35 and over which is great because they have different needs.
You can buy them here and use discount code ‘HappyBaby’ for 20 percent savings on Rainbow Light Prenatals and ‘HappyFamily’ for 20% off multivitamins as well!
9) Illumai Biome Care System for Hair: Did you know that your hair changes drastically through pregnancy and postpartum? I had NO idea and unfortunately, I have been discovering it the hard way. On top of the changes my hair is going through, Elia has recently discovered her hands and has been pulling my locks and rubbing them in her face constantly.
Because of this, I’ve become increasingly concerned about the harsh chemicals I’m using in it. A great solution is the illumai Biome Care System for Hair.
It perfect for the natural change that are occurring in my hair and safe for my little girl to grab on to. I feel good using it because it was developed by a former pediatrician and globally recognized immunology scientist to gently clean, nurture, rebalance and protect hair and scalp with only 7 ingredients. It has no sulfates, no silicones, no parabens, no preservatives, no plasticizers, gluten-free, nut-free, 100% vegan and cruelty-free (PETA certified).
This system is so well-designed for new moms, I’ve arranged for 40% off size for my readers. Just use promocode, 44EVERYTHINGERICA. Expires 10/31/2016.”
10) Dr. Browns Bottles: As most of you know, I decided to stop breastfeeding a few weeks ago. When that happened, it was really important for me to find the best bottles possible. It didn’t take long to discover the super popular, Dr. Browns. My little one has bad reflux, and their vent system has helped so much! It reduces feeding problems, helps with digestion and helps preserve vitamins.
What are some of YOUR must-haves?
Love always,
Erica

A support system, outside of your home. New parents need a break, and couples should have alone time. Your support system can be family, friends, or a list of nanny/sitters that you interviewed and liked.
A schedule. Your child(ren) will thank you for it, and you’ll feel more accomplished.

A lot of the baby detergents have bad ingredients like Dreft… Believe it or not. My son also had some breakouts and we switched him to free detergents like Seventh Generation and All Free & Clear. He hasn’t had any breakouts since then. I also stopped using any fabric softener on him.
