Let’s face it, we all get a craving for junk food. Every once in a while, it’s okay to give into these cravings. For the rest of the times when you’re trying to keep it healthy, I’ve made a list of the 5 Healthy Foods that I use to satisfy my junk cravings. I hope it can help you too!
1) Popcorn Tea: Yes you read that right. There is a tea that exists that honestly tastes like a fresh bag of popcorn (i’m serious). It’s actually called Genmai cha tea and you can buy it here. This unbelievably delicious tea has no fat, sugar or carbs, but I would bet you that you don’t even notice! I find myself drinking this tea whenever I’m in the mood for something salty. Needless to say, I’m totally obsessed and am pretty confident you will be too. So with all that said…buy it now.
2) Cotton Candy Grapes: I’ll give you a minute to digest this. Yes, there are actually grapes out there that taste like cotton candy (and no they do not contain any GMOs). They are from The Grapery out in California and they may be one of the most incredible pieces of fruit you’ve ever eaten. To make them, they use a special cross pollination process that took many years and came out with a product that tastes just like cotton candy. Bad news is that these babies are only released in August & September so prepare to stock up and freeze them!
3) Frozen Bananas: Whenever I feel the desperate need to eat some ice cream, I always go for a frozen banana instead. Have you guys ever tried this? It honestly tastes like you’re eating incredible banana ice cream. It’s super simple to make to. Peel a banana, cut it in half, put a popsicle stick in the bottom and place each half in a freezer safe plastic bag. Grab and go when you want something sweet!
4) “Dang” Caramel Sea Salt Coconut Chips: These things are amazing, it’s no wonder they are called Dang. I’m totally addicted to these crunchy and sweet coconut chips and I know you will be too. If you aren’t familiar with coconut chips, they are healthy snack with all the benefits of coconut oil. They’re made from the copra (coconut meat), sliced out and toasted with sugar and salt. The chips are abundant in protein and fiber so it’s totally okay to become addicted. You can buy them here. Oh and if caramel sea salt isn’t your thing, they have a bunch of other equally awesome flavors.
5) Kale Chips: I know what you’re thinking. “The kale hype is getting a little out of control”. Really though…these things are kind of amazing (and super easy to make).
Just use my recipe and I promise you’ll go through an entire sheet tray in one sitting. And guess what, they are SUPER healthy, so that’s okay.

Dang coconut chips are SOOOOOO GOOD! I snacked on them religiously when I was low-carbing before my wedding. The salted caramel are the best — I’ve been wanting to try and make my own version at home. I’ve heard coconut chips are a lot of fun to make!
