As I sit here and reflect on this last weekend, I can’t help but feel overcome with love, a warm heart and amazing memories. As some of you know (if you follow me on social media), this weekend I had my first bridal shower (a champagne brunch) at Mistral restaurant in Boston.
I feel so blessed. My shower was thrown by 3 of my fiancé’s amazing aunts, Patty, Cathy and Dana and his grandmother, Ellie. Not only did they make it a special event for all the guests, but they took the time to create a memorable experience for me specifically. From the exquisite food (because we all know that’s probably the most important thing in my life), to the adorable Everything Erica inspired details , I felt like a true princess.
I thought it would be fun to share the event’s menu with you and just a couple of the details from the day.
The guest were able to choose from three amazing varieties including; blood orange, pomegranate and passion fruit. In the photo above, I was enjoying the passion fruit and Patty (my aunt to-be) was drinking the pomegranate.
There were so many delicious small bites to choose from. The highlight for me was the Greek-style yogurt panna cotta with almond granola, honey and mango glacè. They also featured a decadent salmon spread that everyone was raving about.
From graham cracker crusted challah french toast with poached pears to an egg white frittata with oven cured tomatoes and vermont goat cheese, the food was simply over the top. It was impossible for me to pick one thing, so I tried every single dish (not good for my wedding dress fitting the next day, but oh well). Simply put, this was a feast fit for a king (or a really overzealous food blogger)!
Other menu items included:
-Heirloom squash omelet with foraged mushrooms, whipped ricotta & sage buerre monte
– Applewood smoked bacon
-Lyonnaise potatoes
-Breakfast Sausage
The Dessert
Even after all that food, there was still a few delicious bites to finish off the meal. Couldn’t have asked for a sweeter finish!
One final touch that simply completed this brunch was the tiny champagne bottles that each guest got to take home. I was obsessed that my hosts used “Everything Erica & Dan” as the tag. It was such a cute detail.
A Short Video
One of the hosts, Patty, made a a beautiful speech. This is a part of it where she talks about the 10 things she’s learned about me over the last few year (playing off of all my Top 10 lists from the blog).
