When the wedding planning begun, I felt like I had a lot to live up to. In my eyes, I had one of the coolest proposals of all time (my fiancé put a ring inside of an egg and I cracked it while I as cooking). It was literally perfect for me!
I knew I wanted to continue that momentum and do something so incredibly cool for all aspects of my weddings. That had to start with the first element of any wedding, the Save the Dates.
When I started the wedding planning, I was told that Save the Dates literally set the tone for your entire wedding. That’s a lot of pressure! So I headed over to Etsy and started looking up cool and unique save the dates and I didn’t find anything I liked. Then, just as I was about to give up and send out the standard magnet or photo card, I found a company called “Break the News” where they actually put tiny notes inside eggs (yes real eggs).
Could anything be more perfect given my proposal? I think not!
I can’t say enough nice things about Break the News and it’s owner, Lisa Shutkufski. I e-mailed Lisa via her store, told her about my proposal and she responded with a resounding “You HAVE to do this!”. From that moment on, she stayed in constant communication with me every day and we worked together to design the entire egg from colors and paper to messaging. The entire package is fully customizable.
See below for a video that my friend Chloe sent me when she got her egg:
How cute is that?
You must be thinking, “That has to be so expensive”. Guess what? It’s not (and I’m on a tight budget so you should know better)! Each egg only costs $6.50 and Lisa will do a discount for bulk orders.
These are hands down the most unique Save the Dates and I hope that you all will consider using them for your special day! You can also use them to share other news like pregnancy announcement, party invitations and more. They are just SO cool.
So…now I have even more pressure that my wedding will live up to these unique Save the Dates! I better get going…:)
Love always,
Erica
