Lately, I’ve had an influx of “Ask Erica’s” and private messages asking me if I teach cooking classes or would be willing to share a meal with one of my readers to chat. I’ve also even had someone ask me if I could cook for her family for the week!
All of these opportunities sounded like so much fun and I decided I would look into doing them and see what happens! What I found is that starting down that path presents a whole new business venture that involves insurance and more. It totally freaked me out.
I did some digging on the Internet and came across something totally amazing program called, Meal Sharing. While at first glance it looks like it’s just a great way to get a home cooked meal when you’re traveling (and it is), I noticed that in Chicago, many people were using it to host cooking lessons and share a meal with other, like-minded foodie locals.
I did a little more digging on the company and found out that they’re actually really legit! Not only are they in more than 450 cities worldwide, but they are backed by Chuck Templeton, the founder of Open Table.
Long story short, I want to give this Meal Sharing thing a try. It will give me a unique opportunity to connect with my readers by inviting them into my home for dinner with the hopes of eventually being able to provide fun and light-hearted cooking classes! So, I’ve scheduled my first dinner!
Remember that famous pasta dish, Utica Chicken “Riggies” that I posted about a few months ago? You know, the ones that won one of my readers a cooking competition? Well, I’m excited to announce that I will be cooking my riggies and a few other Italian dishes at my first meal share on Tuesday, July 30. I have opened up just 4 spots at a super low “chip-in” of $18.

Love always,
Erica
