Simply put, I am obsessed with guacamole.
I find that the creamy texture and buttery flavor of an avocado makes such a great base for creating some really interesting and unique dips. That’s why I want to break the guacamole out of it’s purist form and jazz it up with one of these fun new recipes!
Before I start, my basic recipe is just mashed avocado, a little lime juice, some pressed garlic, tomatoes, salt & pepper. Simple and delicious!
1. Tex Mex Chile Corn
This recipe is on the simpler side. Just take your basic guacamole recipe and add a little roasted corn and chile powder.
2. Tropical Fruit Guacamole
Can’t make it the beach this winter? Make this bright and sunny dip and dream about being in the tropics instead. Just take your regular guacamole recipe and add the tropical fruit of your choice. I usually opt for pineapple or mango and then combine it with grated jalapeño peppers for a little heat to balance the sweet!
3. Hummus Guacamole
Um…two of my favorite dips in one? Sure! To make this, start by making my homemade hummus. When that’s all blended, add the standard guacamole ingredients minus the garlic (since it’s already in the hummus) and mix it all together.
4. Bacon & Cheese Guacamole
Let’s be honest, bacon and cheese make everything better. Just add crumbled bacon and chunks of Cojita cheese to your standard guacamole recipe. Yum!
5. Indian Curry Guacamole
I love a good fusion dish! This east meets east guacamole adds in some fresh grated ginger, curry powder, garam masala, honey, and cayenne pepper to the traditional recipe.
How good do those sound? I think I might have to make one of these tonight! What’s add-ins do you like to throw into your guacamole?
Love always,
Erica
